We had a small celebration with family and friends. The theme was rubber duckie & bubbles because “bubble” was actually lilo’s first word at 18 months old. We had a good 20 mins of bubble blowing session and the kids were so happy.

I find that at this age, lilo is at his cutest. He can now say quite a lot of things and he enjoys pretend play. He still has an undying love for vehicles especially bus, but more recently also fire engine. He loves to read book and sing songs. We also recently enrolled him in a gym class for toddler as part of the enrichment class at school and he LOVES it! The teacher sends me his pictures during gym class and he was always all smiles.

We are blessed that he is growing well and hitting all the developmental milestones for his age. I find it quite amazing that in just 6 months from his first word he can now speak in 4 word sentences. He enjoys listening to and singing songs. In fact I think his love of songs is what helped him to develop his speech capability. He remembers the words to those songs and what they mean. Here are just some of the popular nursery rhymes he now knows by heart

  • Baa Baa black sheep
  • Wheels on the bus
  • London bridge is falling down
  • Mary had a little lamb
  • 5 little monkeys
  • Finger Family
  • If you’re happy and you know it
  • Old McDonald had a farm
  • Head Shoulders Knees & Toes
  • Rain rain go away
  • Balonku ada lima
  • Cicak cicak di dinding

All in all I think his right brain development (language, intuition, creativity) is on track perhaps due to Shichida right brain training but he still need more work to develop the left brain aspects like solving puzzles for example. He doesn’t have much interest in puzzles, several months ago I bought him one piece puzzles with knows, he took one piece of puzzle and turned it into a tea cup lid. He said “lilo drink tea” 🤣
